Doin' the Happy Dance

This cover is Classic in the colors they chose.  I LOVE the combinations here. I've used them in several pieces that I've created and they just speak to me.

Cannot wait to open this thing up and devour the contents. I so admire the work of Michelle Ward and am anxious  to see her new section. She is magical.

Anyhow, I'm completely thrilled with the shots they took of my Ranger Designer Challenge using Perfect Pearls!!!

It was one of the most "up my alley" projects that they've had us do. HOUSES and DIE CUTS and PERFECT PEARLS! Great fun.

Check out the wonderful creations by all the talented artists here. I'm honored to be in their company.

We had a tiny bit of sunshine today............and now it's raining ..............AGAIN.

Had planned to go take pictures of the flowers. Hydrangeas, Day Lilies, and Bee Balm are looking good right now. Lots of green out there with plenty of buds coming on for more days of color.

AND JUST A REQUEST HERE!!!! WHEN MY COMPUTER CRASHED I LOST ALL MY EMAIL CONTACTS. SO I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO RESPOND TO LOTS OF COMMENTS LIKE I WANT TO. PLEASE SEND ME YOUR EMAIL ADDY SO I CAN ADD IT TO MY LIST AGAIN.
THANKS....AND I'M NOT SCREAMING HERE...JUST PLEADING!

Have a great weekend.

Now "back to your regular scheduled programing" and working on samples in the Studio.

Winding it down from Door County

Ready to go home....have had a great time away from the hustle and bustle of home life.  But there's no place like home.

Lots to do when I get home, but this has been a fun time with Bill. This is the full moon last night from our balcony.

This is the moon coming over the next resort.

I've shopped till I dropped and had some great food. We opted for a quick pizza tonight so we could watch the Stanley Cup finals.....I'm bettin' on Boston!!!! It will be tough.

I'll leave you with a picture from Sister Bay at sunset.

Tomorrow it's back to the Rat Race....assignments should  be coming this week. Hoping for good ideas.

And I did get some good news that will be coming forth in the fall. Nothing big, but doing a happy dance for now.

Be good to each other!

Collections from JVO Triptych

As a friend of my daughter's says, yesterday I had a little "me" time.

I went shopping and scored a few things that make me happy. One being some Recollections cling mount stamps at Michael's. Oh, I LOVE how tiny they are in this set. PERFECT for mini-collage or whatever.

And so I decided to play.

Here's a mini tutorial for using a few fun things.

Start with cutting 3 of the rounded top houses from Tim's Artful Dwellings set using a thin chipboard. I get 30x30 inch sheets from the art supply section.

I covered the fronts with Antique Tissue Paper-Victorian from Collections. I used Claudine's Multi-Medium and a brush to glue papers. Add Distress Inks as you like.

Then I stamped with the new little set of stamps and Coffee Archival Ink.

This is shown after I'd put it together to show how I added black permanent ink to the seems of the canvas with a pen.

Julie van Oosten, owner of Collections Elements, had sent me some wonderful things awhile back and I'd just not found time to use them. Check out here blog here for wonderful ideas and products.

This paper is from the Vintage Rose 6x6 Collection. Gorgeous papers in such a fun size.

Next add Sticky Back canvas that's been colored with Fired Brick and Vintage Photo Distress Inks to the seems on the BACK of your Triptych.

This shows the last piece before the papers are added. Leave enough between the 3 pieces for it to fold.  Die cut your papers, stamp as you like, and glue over canvas hinges.

Flip over and you can decorate to your hearts content. Add ribbon, glass bottles, metal and chipboard ephemera.

Pen dots always added for just a bit more fun!!!

Have a great day. Still working with the new and not as wonderful photo program. Can't find the old one yet, but I'll keep trying.

This is Just a Test!!!

I told you guys on Facebook that we had a double power outage. It didn't seem to bother anyone else, but since I tried to turn my computer back on in between the two........it seemed to blow my computer's mind!

So after several days of messing with getting it back to where I had things before. I thought I'd better try to post to Blogger.

The Followers seems to be a known problem with Blogger...so hopefully THEY will fix that.

To those who think a backup is gonna put everything right back where it was before.....then you're as naive as I was. Doesn't happen like that.

All my email contacts are gone. I had to redo my Microsoft products like that and Word, myself. Hoping to find a better cure soon, and will definitely get an external hard drive!!! So send me an email so I can get you back in my contacts if you have time!!!

So, I'm back to creating the pieces for kits to STAMPER'S INK in SHAWNEE KANSAS for August classes.  That and a few projects for CHA....The class samples should arrive today, so go into the store and take a peek!

.....have a good weekend, and to those traveling to Stamper's Ink for Tim's classes this weekend...safe travels. Have a great time. Say hi to Tanya for me!!!

This is a new sample I put together for the Artful Dwellings with Graphic 45 class. I lost my great picture enhancing program, too. So this is a bit yellow, but I wanted to test the blog.

Had lunch today with our Traveling Buddies Harry and Joni. Gorgeous day out there. Not back to work making pieces for the classes.

WONDERFUL time spent @Memory Bound

I cannot say enough about the students and the people in Ankeny Iowa at Memory Bound Scrapbook Store!!!

The staff and owners, Kellie and Dawn, are top notch. I'd go back there in a minute......

.......in fact I AM going back there in the fall. No date yet, or classes, but we'll work that out after CHA!!! YAY!

Anyway, I owe a whole lot to my new buddy Robin here on the left. She bugged them, as I'm sure Robin in her own gentle way did, to get them to have me come and teach.

THANK YOU ROBIN!!! It was a joy.

And Fonda shown here with her, has a fantastic class coming up at the shop! BOTH very talented ladies. Robin loves flowers, no gears, please...

I didn't get pictures of everyone, but I did get some on the last day before everyone was gone. Jackie (on the left) shared sooooo much. Thank you for the little class on making a totally cute paper folded project, and my great gift...vintage paper from a player piano. And Marlo just lives right outside the back door....well almost!

I am great at remembering faces, but horrible with names. Too bad I can't read all the name tags!!! But these two lovely ladies are cousins that had great projects come together.

Now these 2 were there for all 3 classes. Who could forget the bubbly Lisa and her fantastic attitude to play. Jo, what at joy to meet you and chat. Hope to see you again soon at your shop.

I had met Glenda before in Davenport at one of my classes, but here she is with her daughter Chris. What a gorgeous duo to work with. Thanks so much for coming to the classes.

And here's Lynn and RaNae, great ladies. Anyway....we bonded and chatted and just had a great time discussing techniques and products.

I know Kellie got some better shots of everyone. These are just a few of the girls that came to the class on Sunday....59 kits again, went out the door this weekend. It appears the Embossed Metal class was THE favorite as it was full.

Everyone is excited to work with metal!!

So much fun, so little time. I met some fantastic people, made some great new friends and love hearing from all of you. Sorry I didn't get pics of everyone.

Mary, mom to a new State Soccer Champion.......you just keep looking at all the wonderful things. We'll get together again.

Keep the emails coming. Any questions and comments are great fun for me.

And again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for a fantastic weekend in Iowa.

Had to have Frank's Pizza on the way home in Bettendorf. Best around!

Memory Bound in Ankeny....What a Fantastic Treat!!!

I cannot say enough about the wonderful people @ Memory Bound Scrapbook Store in Ankeny Iowa!!!

The people and the students are second to none. AND it's worth a trip from ANYWHERE to see the great products they carry.  LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the whole experience there.

We've gotten through 2 of the 3 classes without a glitch, and everyone seemed to be happy with their projects. And I could NOT have been happier.

TESS, You are worth you weight in gold as an assistant! You ROCK, girl...just an outstanding person, sweet and the hardest worker you will ever encounter. Thanks a million for all your help! I'll miss you tomorrow, but I can't wait to have fun with your friend who's standing in for you.

Do these 2 look like they are having a good time???? You betcha! SISTAS! So much fun with everyone.

Here's Kellie checking out the works in progress during class. Noses to the grindstone and everyone hard at work.

This is the 2nd class, and it was full!!! YAY! I forgot to take pics of the 1st class, got too involved with all the demos of products and fun questions. BUT you can see Jackie's little Chunky ATC on her workstation in front of her.

They all turned out so cool!!! And the Embossed Metal class was terrific. The color combos were to die for!!!

Look at the vibrant colors here. With so many different colors of Alcohol Inks, the possibilities were endless.

So, after a great Mexican dinner and a Margarita, I'll be back at the store tomorrow with the Artful Dwellings Class.  Hopefully I'll remember to take some more pictures of the projects to share.

Get some sleep tonight, girls, and we'll hit it again tomorrow for a another fun class!

Thanks again to Kellie and Dawn, from the bottom of my heart, for a wonderful setup. Your crew is top-notch!
